In 2015, the 17th Seoul International Film Festival (SIWFF) accepted a total of 415 films submitted from about 20 countries including Bhutan, China, Hong Kong, India, Iran, Israel, Japan, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Myanmar, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam and Korea.
Only 21 films with outstanding efforts to overcome existing conventions in many genres including animation, documentary, experimental film, musical drama as well as fiction films directed by Asian female directors will compete for the Sungjoo Grand Prize and the Sungjoo First Prize during the festival from May 27 - June 3
One of the competitors is Dechen Roder with her film: LO SUM CHOE SUM or 3 YEAR 3 MONTH RETREAT.
Lead actor Dechen Zangmo will go to Korea to attend SIWW
